Local organization, podcaster join 8News to highlight real estate, property ownership

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A local organization and podcaster joined 8News on Thursday morning to spread awareness about the importance of real estate and property ownership in the Black community.

8News anchors Autumn Childress and Madison Moore were joined by Eric Hunter, the owner and founder of Master Your Moment, and Breonna Moore, the owner and founder of Conversations Unearthed Podcast, on the morning of Thursday, July 17.

Moore emphasized the financial aspect of the podcast -- something that she said "was able to get [her] out of the interesting situation that has to do with [her] mental health."

"It's something that I wished I had when I was building wealth. I didn't understand how net worth really worked," Moore said. "I didn't understand that you couldn't really build wealth with a W2 job. You needed to invest and own and things like that."

She said that she brings on change makers and thought leaders in the city.

"Master Your Moment was founded out of [a] real purpose to get people out of desire mode, to help them start living [with] real intention -- build a life," Hunter said. "And that's really what it's about."
