PHOTOS: Chesterfield firefighters remove pipe from neck of stray cat on Christmas Eve

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Firefighters with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS pulled off a "purrfect" rescue on Christmas Eve, freeing a stray cat from a pipe that had been stuck around its neck for days. The morning of Tuesday, Dec. 24, Chesterfield firefighters with Station 16 helped out a stray cat that had a piece of corrugated plastic pipe stuck around his neck. (Photo: Chesterfield County Fire and EMS) The firefighters cut the pipe off of the cat, then handed him over to the owner of a local cat rescue group, who took him to the Richmond Animal League (RAL) for care.
