Section of Henrico roadway closed due to water main break

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A section of a Henrico County roadway will be closed at least through Monday due to a water main break, with crews to be on site for "an extended period of time," according to authorities.

The morning of Sunday, Sept. 28, the Henrico County Police Division said that Lauderdale Drive northbound will be closed between John Rolfe Parkway and Cambridge Drive to all traffic.

Due to the repair work, Henrico Police said the road closure is expected to last through sometime on Monday, Sept. 29.

Authorities said Henrico Public Utilities is currently on scene of the water main break on Lauderdale Drive, with crews expected to be on site for "an extended period of time."

Police urge drivers to avoid the area and seek alternative routes as crews work to repair the water main break.
