StormTracker8: Dangerous Roads & Cold Temperatures for Tuesday

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – Here is a recap of the snowfall reports from many areas in Central Virginia.

This morning started off very cold with most temperatures across the Commonwealth in the teens. Below freezing temperatures are aiding to the dangerous road conditions. In addition to the snow, beware of black ice, especially on bridges, that you may not be able to see. If you must drive today, drive extremely slowly.

Highs today will be in the mid 30s, so I'm expecting to still see snow on the ground through the day. Skies will be mostly sunny. Overnight we will freeze again, as lows drop to the 20s. Some roads could still be dangerous tomorrow morning as well.

Tomorrow, the snow will melt. We have our next chance for some isolated showers as a weather system will be making its way over Central Virginia during the afternoon hours .

Highs will return to the 40s for the rest of the week, with some clouds hanging around. Lows will remain at or below freezing through the 8 day period.

Following Wednesday, our next decent chances for precipitation are on Sunday. It looks to be in the form of scattered or isolated showers. This weather system could drop our temperatures back into the teens for lows and 30s for highs to kick off next week.
