2 leaders at Virginia’s American Revolution 250 commission fired
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Two leaders at Virginia's American Revolution 250 commission (VA250) were fired this week, according to officials.
National Honorary Chair Carly Fiorina shared in a statement on Thursday, Feb. 5 that the executive director and deputy director were let go from the VA250.
"While we are not able to discuss specific details, the VA250 Commission’s leadership took appropriate action based on their findings," Fiorino said. "Aside from this change, the VA250 staff remains fully intact."

Despite the firings, Fiorina emphasized that VA250's focus remains clear: maintaining momentum and delivering authentic, meaningful and inclusive programming in 2026 that reflects the very best of the Commonwealth and embodies the spirit of "America. Made in Virginia."
"This commemoration reflects the dedication and commitment of many individuals and organizations—from Commission members and staff to partners and volunteers across the Commonwealth," Fiorina said. "We are deeply grateful to Virginia’s local 250 commissions, historic institutions, commemorative partners, donors, and supporters for their extraordinary work and steadfast dedication to this effort."
In a release, Fiorina said Frank Sadler, Fiorina's chief of staff, that the commission is providing vision and management oversight in their continued roles as unpaid volunteers to advance the work of the commission.
